We Conquered the Ocean

It's amazing some of the things love could accomplish.

It began as a friendship on a forum, when I first met Brandy. Basically talking about shared interests (and to be honest, me slightly pestering her to talk). But over time, what began as a friendship soon became something more. At first we were unsure, what with us being on two separate countries, but the feelings I felt for her caused me to make one of the biggest, life-changing decisions a person could make. I decided to move across the ocean for her, to live in America with her.

In 2010, we began work to get me a visa to get me over to the US. Early in the year, Brandy even travelled to Australia to visit me for my birthday, only serving to encourage me ever further. After showing her the week of her life, we began work in earnest to get me that visa. After a bit of tangling with the immigration system, I was finally able to get over to the USA, to be with the love of my life.

For the following year, we lived together in Virginia, where we went through many trials, and had many wonderful experiences together. During this time, I made the biggest decision I would ever make. I decided that there was nobody else I'd rather be with, for the rest of my life. And so, on the night before I returned to Australia, before friends and relatives, I proposed to her. Needless to say, it was the happiest evening of our lives...so far.

Now, we are working on getting my butt back into the US, so I can marry the woman I love and spend the rest of our lives happily together. And personally, I can't wait.
